WinCan offers the integration of 3 types of laser measurement:

Parallel-Laser

A pan & tilt camera that incorporates two lasers that are parallel to each other and parallel and symmetric to the view direction. Over the known vertical view angle (or field of view) you can calculate the distance of the camera to the laser dots. If you look perpendicular to the pipe surface and rotate the camera head 360° around the pipe axis you can create a cross section profile of the pipe.

Ring-Laser

A ring laser is a laser plane that is created from a single laser with a cone prism. The laser is in a device mounted in front of the camera head. If the stick is parallel to the pipe axis the laser plane will be perpendicular to the pipe and will project into a round pipe a circle that can be seen from the camera. You can capture this laser circle on video and WinCan LaserScan will extract it and generate a 3D profile of the whole pipe section.

DigiSewer-Laser

The principle of the DigiSewer camera with 7 laser dots is similar to the ring laser. The lasers are located behind the camera lens and beam 7 dots in a defined angle onto the pipe surface. The LaserScan module will find these dots and calculate a cross section profile through these dots. WinCan LaserScan will extract it and generate a 3D profile of the whole pipe section.
